Players
Eno Rugby welcomes all adults over age 18 who feel that a women’s league is the appropriate place for them to play rugby. No prior experience necessary- we only ask that players show up, try their best, and contribute a positive attitude to our fun and supportive family of ruggers!
Training
We practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7-9pm throughout the fall and spring seasons, and hold weekly touch rugby sessions throughout the summer. Come join us anytime- you’ll find something for new and veteran players alike! If you plan to play with us on a regular basis, you will need cleats and a mouthguard.
Follow us on Facebook and Instagram for our current season schedule, as well as the most up-to-date practice details and weather-related changes.
Match Play
Matrix and friendly matches are played on various Saturdays throughout the active season. During fall and spring, we play 15’s rugby as part of the Carolinas Geographic Union Women’s Division II matrix. Over the summer, we travel to sevens tournaments throughout the Southeast. Home match locations vary based on field availability, but are generally played in our home city of Durham. We compete against teams in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia.
Enrollment
To join our club, shoot an email to our recruitment chair, or simply come out to any practice. Players must complete a health and safety information form and a membership registration form each season, providing their contact information and an agreement to abide by the club’s Community Standards.
For questions about eligibility based on gender or any other factors, please refer to:
- Our club’s Statement on Trans and Nonbinary Players,
- World Rugby’s Transgender Guidelines, and
- USA Rugby’s Transgender Athlete Policy.
Please feel welcome to contact our club president directly at president@enorugby.com with any questions.
Cost
Dues are paid each Fall and Spring season:
- Veteran Player: $70
- Rookie Player: $60
CIPP registration with USA Rugby and the local rugby union are required: this typically costs about $100, and players must register directly with USAR through the Rugby Xplorer platform. More information on registration is provided by our local union, the CGRU.
Social Members
Social Members are a vital part of the Eno Rugby community! We rely on your support to cheer us on at matches and help make our social and philanthropic events a success. Dues for this membership type are $45 per season, and include admission, food, and beer at all home socials.
Summer 7’s
Keep an eye our for Eno Rugby at your favorite summer 7’s tournament! You may see our players represented on the pitch as Eno River Rugby, the Baby Dragons, or with another team as we love to collaborate! In this smaller-sided, faster-paced version of the game there are ample opportunities for new and veteran players to develop their skills.
Player Health and Safety
Eno Rugby holds the health and safety of players and fans as our highest priority. We encourage players to be vaccinated against common illnesses, monitor their health for any potential symptoms of illness, and refrain from attending rugby events if sick. All players must have active health insurance in order to participate in training or match play.
